As a newly hired eligible employee,
a personalized enrollment kit will be sent to your work email from John Hancock. This kit includes instruction for enrollment and for using
myplan.johnhancock.com. However, you may contact a John Hancock Participant Service Representative at 1-800-294-3575 if you have any questions about using this service.
You will be eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan, as soon as administratively possible following your date of hire, if you are hired as a full-time or part-time benefits eligible employee, that is, scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week on a consistent basis. You are not eligible to participate if you are:
An intern, extern, cooperative student or in any position as part of a program in cooperation with an educational institution
A nonresident alien
Employed by an organization acquired as the result of a foreclosure
Covered by a collective bargaining agreement (unless the terms of the bargaining agreement otherwise provides)
An independent contractor or leased employee
A temporary employee*
* Temporary employees who works at least 1,000 hours in a calendar year will be eligible to participate in the plan beginning Jan. 1 of the next year.
