Dependent Status

Dependent Graduates from College

When a dependent graduates from college or a university and intends to attend graduate school (or other accredited institution) in the fall, he or she may remain on the Farm Credit Foundations dental and/or vision plans. Dependent must be under age 25. However, if the dependent is not attending an accredited institution in the fall his/her dental and/or vision coverage needs to be cancelled. Health care coverage ends at the end of the pay period in which the dependent graduates. For example, if graduation is May 23rd the dependent's health care coverage would cease May 31st, which is the end of the pay period.

Dependents are eligible for medical coverage up to age 26 regardless of student status as long as they do not have access to group medical coverage through their employer.

Farm Credit employees are responsible to notify their Benefits Contact or HR Representative to make the appropriate change.
